Independent Reading - Rhetorical Analysis Stamped Essay
Conference Schedule
1. Please do not delete another student's name.
2. Please do not add or delete conference times.
3. Essays must be stamped by December 9.
4. Be courteous; show up for your scheduled conference.
5. Come prepared with two printed copies of your essay and a pen.
6. Come to your conference with the intent of getting a stamp (this means your essay should be as perfect as it can be).
7. Share your essay with Mrs. Tuchfarber the night prior to your conference. Also, please submit essay to the AP English Language Google Classroom (shared by Mrs. Jenemann and Mrs. Tuchfarber - to prevent copying).
8. If you have to cancel, kindly give at least 12 hours notice. Failure to give at least 12 hours notice will be treated as a no-show, thus lowering your score by one letter grade. It would also be much appreciated if you would email Mrs. Tuchfarber to let her know why you are canceling.
9. Please do not sign up for a second conference until you’ve attended your first conference.
College Essay Scoring - maximum of 60 points
We are using the AP English Language and Composition Rubric.
5= 42 points (70 percent)
6 = 48 points (80 percent)
7 = 52 points (87 percent)
8 = 57 points (95 percent)
9 = 60 points (100 percent)
Essay with conferencing but no stamp = 36 points (60 %)
Essay with no conferencing = 30 points (50 %)
No essay = 0
